SUB I, 3B

As you know, the Patriot Experience provides the framework for a co-curricular learning model and is part of Mason’s commitment to delivering a transformative learning experience for all undergraduate students. It is a key strategic initiative that directly relates to our University Life Student Success Goals detailed in the strategic plan. The Patriot Experience will provide students with engagement opportunities that contribute to their retention and timely degree completion while enhancing their sense of belonging and Mason Pride. Students participating in the Patriot Experience will be assigned to all four pathways initially so that they may focus their time or engage with any or all of the areas that speak to their interest and passion:

· Career Readiness

· Civic Learning and Community Engagement

· Global and Multicultural Competency

· Well-Being

In order to ensure success as we expand the Patriot Experience into all three tiered levels and begin year two of the program, the entire division of University Life will need to be actively engaged in helping to bring this program to life. Each office within University Life will need to be well-prepared to engage our students participating in the Patriot Experience within and among all three levels next year, the Patriot Experience Coordinating Team will be offering two 90-minute information sessions this summer. It is requested that each office in University Life send at least one professional staff member to one of the sessions and all those new to UL should attend one of the sessions.
